Spirulina belongs to a group of macroscopic algae known as green blue algae. Spirulina grows naturally throughout the Pacific and in lakes in Mexico and Central Africa.
Spirulina differs from the family of blue algae in green because of its structure resembling a spiral, hence its name. Spirulina is currently grown under controlled conditions and is not contaminated with metals. Biogreen's organic spirulina is also strictly controlled in processing and storage processes.
Biogreen's Organic Spirulina Seaweed is considered a "superfood" and grown in aquaculture. Rich in nutrients, contains about 70% protein and is considered a complete protein. A unique protein component C-phycocyanin that gives spirulina its green-blue color with strong antioxidant activity and anti-inflammatory activity.
Easily digested and rich in phytochemicals such as phenols, chlorophyll and keratonoids, especially beta-carotene. The beta-carotene concentration in spirulina is higher than in carrots. In addition, spirulina is rich in vitamins B, E and a wide variety of minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, potassium and manganese.
