Folate (vitamin  B9) is the natural structure of  "folic acid"  as it is found in nature in green leaves, from which the word  FOLIA (leaves) comes since it was first found in spinach leaves. A  few years after the folate was found, a  synthetic structure of it has been developed under the name folic acid.
Folic acid goes through metabolism in the liver, with materials that make it into the active ingredient in the body, called  methyltetrahydrofolate-5, which is the active form in the body.
The use of folate provides the body a  natural and active solution of  "folic acid"  which does not need to go through conversion and adjustment to the body, and it was found efficient comparing to the synthetic folic acid.
