This silver plated Kiddush cup, made from nickel, is a great Judaica piece for sharing Kiddush wine and observing Shabbat or any Jewish holiday. It has the shape of a goblet and has a wide mouth that makes it easy to use. It comes with a matching saucer with raised sides to better carry it as you share wine or grape juice. Both pieces feature polished surfaces and a hammered pattern. This handsome piece was set by Israel's Yair Emanuel and would make for an excellent holiday gift for family and friends.
Before the evening and daytime Shabbat meals, a Kiddush (translated to “Sanctification” in English) is recited over wine with a Kiddush cup filled to the brim. This serves as ritual that ends a week of labour and toiling with the beginning of a day of rest.
Yair Emanuel, the Israeli artist of the year, uses his artistic talent to design stunning Judaica pieces that are a fusion of traditional themes and early Jewish manuscripts with contemporary and oriental art. He works in his studio, located in Jerusalem.
