How do the seals work?
During the appearance and landing, due to rapid elevation changes, atmospheric pressure also changes at extreme speed. The pressure regulator in the ear is an organ called the "osteachius trumpet" which is responsible for balancing the pressure between the two parts of the eardrum: internal and external. Pain and pressure in the ears during flight are caused by dysfunction of the Eustachian trumpet (usually due to ear infections, colds, or allergies) The absence of a pressure regulator when the plane takes off or lands causes pressure on the eardrums and severe pain in the ears.
